"Definitely worth the detour. If you can stop here you will love it. Friendly staff. Food is excellent. Great menu. We had the Reuben toastie and Mushroom cheese toastie. Excellent Allpress coffee and delicious hot chocolate with marshmallows. Lots of parking. The renovation is stunning. It was cold outside and we really appreciated sitting by the huge fireplace. Lots of outdoor tables as well. We will definitely be back."

"Absolutely loved stumbling across this fabulous place ! Such a gorgeous setting looking out to the hills from the beer garden The food, drinks, atmosphere and friendly staff was Amazing I enjoyed walking around the general store looking at all the lovely things for sale The toilets are even beautiful We had a lovely lunch with drinks , we will definitely be back maybe for Coffee and cake next time ( if I can decide what to choose from the great selection"

"I dropped into The General Strath Creek for a coffee and a bite to eat. It's a mix of a general store, post office, restaurant, and bar. The place has a fantastic set-up and atmosphere, and the staff are really friendly. I was after something quick, so I got a reuben sandwich. I was expecting it to go in a sandwich press, but was pleasantly surprised to see it handed to a chef out back to property toast... best I've ever had. Coffee was excellent too, so good that I got another one for the road on the way out. I am looking forward to coming back with the family for a meal and drink. Highly recommended!"

"Wow!! For a trip Up the Hume then no better detour than stopping by strath creek general store. The sun was shining which helped to make it a great day. Good spot on, generous breaky burger with two eggs, bacon was spot on. Service is excellent, especially owner Prue who is a warm friendly face and very helpful. Next time I’ll be back for nice long lunch. 👍"

"You will love the atmosphere here—it has a very pleasant ambiance that makes you feel welcome. They clearly take their coffee seriously, as my cup was nice and well-prepared. The standout, though, was the meat pie; it was undeniably fresh and tasted amazing. This is definitely a spot I would highly recommend to anyone passing by."
